Rida Laraki, who will head the Moroccan Center of Game Theory, is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique in France (X93). He earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University Pierre and Marie Curie in 2000 (called now, Sorbonne University).

Rida Laraki served as professor at the École Polytechnique from 2006 to 2017, teaching in both the mathematics and economics departments. Subsequently, he transitioned to the University of Liverpool from 2017 to 2023, as professor in the computer science department. He advanced his scientific career at the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) in France, serving as Chargé de Recherche from 2002 to 2013 at the École Polytechnique, and subsequently as Directeur de Recherche from 2013 to 2024 at Université Paris Dauphine PSL. Since 2024, he is detached from the CNRS and joined the UM6P as professor.

Rida Laraki has gained widespread recognition for his impactful contributions to mathematical game theory and social choice theory. His expertise extends to diverse areas, including stochastic games, voting, mechanism design, economic theory, optimization, multi-agent learning, and operations research. A highlight of his collaborative efforts is the development of the groundbreaking "majority judgment" voting system with Michel Balinski, resulting in the publication of a book on the subject by the MIT Press in 2011.
